The Mürren Alpine Loop: 1000 Meters Climb & Dangerous Descent

This demanding MTB adventure combines a tough climb, spectacular alpine scenery, and a very technical descent. Starting in Lauterbrunnen, the route winds its way uphill through the valley and mountain landscape, gaining over 1,000 vertical meters before reaching Winteregg. From this elevated viewpoint, you continue across a beautiful alpine plateau towards the car-free village of Mürren and onward to Gimmelwald. The true challenge begins on the descent back into the valley. The trail from Gimmelwald to Stechelberg is steep, technical, and demanding, with loose terrain and challenging sections that require advanced riding skills and full control of your bike. After reaching Stechelberg, the route eases off and follows a relaxed final stretch along the waterfalls of the Lauterbrunnen Valley back to the starting point.
